Saar Singhal

About

Growing up in San Francisco, Saar began as a touring jazz saxophonist with a number of nationally renowned ensembles. Early in his career, he performed at a number of festivals across the globe (including the Monterey and Tokyo Jazz Festivals between 2015 and 2017).

He eventually moved to New York to produce electronic music in Manhattan. Around this time Saar also began composing original music for a number of independent films. In 2018, he began a multi-year collaboration with mobile game developer nCore Games. Their flagship game, FAU-G, features a soundtrack by Saar and has amassed over ten million players across Asia.

Saar was noticed by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, under whom Saar began working as an additional music composer on films between Los Angeles, India, Dubai, and more. During this time he explored various Asian musical pedagogies and found distinct ways to combine traditional wounds with modern production.

He has also spent time in Los Angeles as an additional music composer with Oscar-winner Mychael Danna on some films, as well as writing additional music for other composers in the area. Now based in Los Angeles full-time, Saar carries with him global musical experiences spanning a long list of musical genres, and is well-equipped to bring unique stories to life.
